Barreled wooden arrow with weight and spine measurement.

Description

For the barreled wooden arrows, we use berreled-shaped shafts. Such shafts can improve the stabilization of the arrow after shooting. Lightening the ends reduces their inertia and oscillation, the arrow stabilizes much faster after a shot. The diameter in the middle of the shaft may be in the range 8-12mm, and at the ends 7-11mm. We can made any diameters in these ranges. The position of the thickest part can be exactly in the center, and also offset to the point or to the arrow nock. You can specify this parameter, as well as the diameter of the arrow after ordering.

The arrow shaft can be made of maple, ash, poplar, pine. We don’t always have all types of wood available, after ordering you can also specify which wood is required. The shafts are selected by spine and weight by bow.

We have such types of the nocks:

1. Self nock with a bandage of linen thread
2. Standard plastic nock
3. Glued in wooden nock from solid wood

Nock (except plastic) can be reinforced with horn insert – price + 1 usd

Turkey dyed feathers 4″ parabolic, shield or another shape. The leading feather differs in color. Winding by linen thread. You can choose color of feathers, type of nock, preferences for spine and other details after the order is placed. I ordered my 31" barreled arrows with 100 grain tips, 11/32" ash shafts, shield feathers, and horn nocks, spined for my 50# Varang Lux. The arrows were all around 610±10 grains, remarkably consistent given the natural materials and right around 12 grains per pound. This is the kind of weight you can expect from the "heavier" options in the arrow order form. I've shot these arrows for about a year now and they continue to impress me. All 12 are still going strong after multiple trips into the dirt and through the underbrush. The ash shafts are absolutely solid. The horn nocks are THICK, not the tiny slivers some arrowmakers use. The nocks on my arrows still look as if they've never been shot and the construction is probably strong enough for a 100# bow. They fit the serving of the Sarmat bows perfectly and they come off the string so smooth. Stability is good right off the bow and perfect beyond 10 meters. I have more confidence with this shape in field shooting and at closer ranges than with round shafts. Production and shipping was super fast. Looking forward to trying some of their lighter arrows as well!

Very beautiful and sturdy arrows. I've had them ricochet off concrete and hit the dirt a few times, with no more than a scratch. As a great example of their customer service, Sarmat matched my arrows' spines to the 30# Varang Lux I bought in conjunction.

I just got these arrows and I'm happy with them. Although I ordered them for a 45lbs bow, they even fly better shot by a 60lbs bow. Maybe that's because of the weight, the arrows are quite heavy (maple wood).

I will definately buy again from Sarmat Archery.
